Erosion of Louisiana's coastlines is a serious environmental problem. We are continually losing land and the richness of Louisiana's natural resources. Our cultural and geographical history is being threatened. So far, we have talked about the problem but have not acted decisively to correct it. I am saddened that areas my family hunted on for generations have washed away. We need a clear and coordinated plan to reverse the effects of coastal erosion. I support sensible proposals, such as cord grass planting, siltation, and sand dredging, which are proven to produce effective and verifiable results.
